International nuclear Physics

The24th International Nuclear Physics Conference (INPC2010) will be held July 4-9, 2010 in Vancouver, Canada and is hosted by TRIUMF, Canada's National Laboratory for Particle and Nuclear Physics.


Every3 years, INPC brings together the international community of nuclear physicists to explore the most compelling questions of modern nuclear physics. It is with great pleasure that we invite you to join us for INPC2010.  The future has never been so exciting in our field, and we look forward to your participation and your contributions.


Locatedon Canada's spectacular West Coast, Vancouver is a cosmopolitan city with vibrant neighborhoods and a multicultural population.  Thecampus of the University of British Columbia (UBC), where INPC will be held, offers stunning views of the Georgia Strait and the Coast Mountains.  With its parks, mountains, and beaches, Vancouver is considered one of the world's most beautiful cities — not to mention the host city of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Tokick off the conference, Lawrence Krauss, an internationally recognizedleader in cosmology and astrophysics, has accepted TRIUMF's invitation to address the public in a general lecture Sunday afternoon at the Chan Centre. Author of over 250 scientific papers, several popular-science books (including the international bestseller "The Physics of Star Trek"), Dr. Krauss is a regular essayist for the New York Times, the LA Times, the Wall St. Journal, and Scientific American.

Theconference will consist of plenary talks, parallel and poster sessions and will address all key questions in Nuclear Physics while showcasing recent highlights and advances.  Awelcome reception for conference delegates will be held at the Chan Centre Sunday afternoon, followed by the public lecture with guest speaker Lawrence Krauss at 4:00pm. The conference will open with plenarytalks Monday morning, and end Friday mid-day.  Special efforts will be made to include and encourage young scientists and students in Nuclear Physics. 


Aspecial banquet for delegates and guests will be held outdoors on the north end of the UBC campus at the Museum of Anthropology, with a delicious, three-course meal prepared by Peake of Catering. Guests will enjoy stunning views of the ocean and mountains as they dine amidst the Haida Big Houses and soaring totem poles of the museum grounds.
